| Students are curious about
the creators of the books they enjoy. The links to author/illustrator sites
included on this page will help to satisfy that curiosity. Learning about
authors/illustrators help readers see possible connections between a creator's
life, and the works he/she has created. Hopefully, as growing authors,
it encourages students to analyze and experiment with different writing
styles.
A list of authors frequently studied in grades K-5 were submitted on Superintendent’s Conference Day. Links to many of these authors appear on this list. Updates to this Web site will appear as teachers expand their list of featured authors. |

Students can read other children's poems and receive feedback from the author. Upon successful completion of this online writing workshop, you can print out a certificate that includes the student’s poem and Jack's signature. |
