| Throughout time, patchwork quilts have
been created as a vehicle for sharing a family history, a moral message,
or as a reflection of historical and cultural events. Participating K-6
classes read stories centered around the theme of quiltmaking. The classes
then agreed upon a theme to use for their class quilt project. The
theme was either curriculum or values related (example: honesty.)
Each student created their own quilt square and wrote a descriptive paragraph
explaining the meaning behind the particular design, or pictures used in
their personal square.
Many of the children, from Kindergarten
and up, learned to use a digital camera so that they could share with you
the images that appear on their class web page. We hope that you
enjoy them.
